Zofia Bartovska

I work at the Department of Infectious Diseases in the Military University Hospital Prague as a lead physician of the outpatient part of the clinic. I focus mainly on the care of HIV-positive patients in our HIV center, as well as on the providing HIV pre-exposure (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). Our HIV center introduced PrEP into practice in the Czech Republic and I am also a co-author of the national PrEP and PEP guidelines. I also participate in the education of medical and dentisty students at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. I am a member of the board of Czech AIDS Help Society – NGO, which
focuses on HIV – mainly on HIV prevention (I work as a physian in PrEP center), but also on destigmatization and psychosocial services. I am a member of Expert group for HIV/AIDS prevention in Prague and a member of Euroguidelines in Central and Eastern Europe Network Group (ECEE), which deals with the specifics of HIV in our region. The topic of my PhD thesis was immunopathogenesis of HIV and in my other publications I focused on HIV case studies, PrEP, Mpox infection, covid 19 and Ukrainian HIV+ refugees.
